Summer Information

Lakeside Presbyterian Church weekday preschool is pleased to present our Summer Adventure Program for the 2012 season. We offer camps for children ages two through five.

It is important to be timely in returning your application and activity fee in order to obtain your first choice of camp sessions. Children are accepted on a first come, first served basis and many sessions fill up very quickly. Many children spend the entire summer with us. You may also choose to attend a portion of the summer, either full or part days. Our summer preschool is staffed with the same high quality teachers who work in our school year program. We look forward to welcoming many returning children and new friends as well.

LPC Preschool’s Summer Adventure Camp provides a creative and enriching environment for young children ages 2-5 to enjoy the summer months in the company of friends old and new.

Mornings will follow a relaxed rhythm similar to the schedule below.

Circle Time: Children gather each morning to share news of the upcoming day. Teachers will provide information for discussion related to the current theme. Circle often includes lots of singing, movement, educational games and stories.

Outside Time: Children enjoy the playground equipment and sandbox, ride a tricycle or pick a nice spot in the shade for quiet play.

Snack: Snacks are brought from home each day and enjoyed in their classroom or outside on the playground.

Enrichment Time: Children join in activities that enhance the experience of their theme through art, cooking, science experiments, and more. Theme material comes to life in this creative part of the morning.

Lunch: Children gather their lunch boxes and enjoy a meal together. *We are a nut free school. Please check all labels when preparing snacks and lunches

What happens after 1:00?
Once lunch is complete, half day children are dismissed and full day children are provided a quiet place for rest and sleep. Around 2:30, rest time ends and we transition to snack and afternoon Enrichment time. This includes art, stories and self guided playtime. The children will also have additional time to enjoy the playground.

General Information

Drop off will begin at 7:30am in the Happy Hive Classroom. Please sign your child in each day. After 8:30am, please sign your child in on the playground.

For safety reasons children must wear tennis shoes or closed toe shoes. Sandals without socks, slides, and flip flops are unacceptable. Your child will not be allowed to stay if they have this kind of shoe on when they arrive. Please dress your child for outside, active, and sometimes messy play. Please send a healthy snack and drink (and lunch if s/he are staying until 1pm or later) the day your child attends camp.
