Special Summer Happenings
2009 Yard Sale
Our Yard Sale is being held this Saturday, June 6 from 9am - 1pm. A lot of interesting “treasures” are finding their way to the fellowship hall. Stop by and check it out!  If you can help, just come when you can and stay as long as you can. Proceeds benefit the GIG Scholarship Fund.

Summer God is Good Time
Our own Mrs. Spalding will be leading Summer God is Good Time every Sunday morning during June and July. Children can be dropped off in the Sanctuary at 9:30am and picked up from the playground at 10:30am. If it is raining pick up will be from Mrs. Spalding’s green room on the Preschool hall. She has got some fun things planned as she introduces the children to the 3 great kings of Isreal: Saul, David and Solomon. Come check it out! Starts Sunday, June 7! Admission is free. Dress is casual. We would love for your family to join us for worship before at 8:30am or after at 11am, but it’s not required.

2009 4th of July Picnic
Our children have been invited to present their “Patriotic Song Fest” from the 2009-10 End of the Year Program at the annual church 4th of July picnic being held on Sunday, July 5 immediately following the 11am worship service. Be on the look out for a letter with more details and a reply postcard for you to return to let us know if you can make it. There is always plenty of food and the best homemade ice creams you have ever tasted! 

Grace on the Move
August 2, 3 and 4 from 6:30 - 8:15pm! Food, fellowship and good fun for all ages! Activities for children and adults alike, but not necessarily together. Come for 1 night or all 3! 

School News
Congratulations
Congratulations to Ms. Mandy’s family: Her sister had twin boys and all are doing well! We missed Ms. Mandy the final weeks of this year, as she stepped in to help her sister during the last weeks of her pregnancy. Also to Mrs. Porter’s daughter Katie is graduating from high school!

Thank you
Our sincerest Thank you to Mrs. Gill and Ms. Mandy for another great End of the Year program. We are so blessed to have you with us! Also, best wishes and thanks to Mrs. Amy Skaggs for sharing the past 2 years with us. We are going to miss you! May God bless you and keep you as you take this next step in your life journey.

Reminders
2008-09 Accounts
Statements for accounts with a balance due have been mailed. All balances are due upon receipt unless other arrangements have been made with Mrs. Amrhein. This includes 2008-09 tuition, 2008-09 extended hours and 2009 summer session.

2009-10 Accounts
All Enrollment forms with the appropriate fee were due Friday, May 29. Parent Information Packets will be mailed out by July 15th to all families who have returned their child’s enrollment form. If you have not returned yours please call the Preschool office and let Mrs. Amrhein know if your plans have changed. There is a waiting list for all classes. 

Forum
On June 15th, we will officially close the forum from the past school year. All posts will be deleted and all members will be removed. For those returning next year, you will have a chance to re-register then. Until then, all of the teachers and staff are able to be contacted by email, as posted on the Staff page of the website.

Slideshow DVDs
If you are interested in having a copy of the Slideshow DVD from the End of the Year program, email the preschool and we will burn you a copy. Copies can be picked up from the Preschool office Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4pm. 

Ukrop’s Gold Certificates
Your Golden Gift points can still be turned in at the Preschool office. We have to turn everything in to Ukrop’s on June 13, 2009. Please think of us!

When I went to Philadelphia for my son’s graduation, my daughter-in-law and I went “yard sale-ing”. We were headed to one in particular, but decided to stop at a couple we came upon along the way. At one of these I found a box of picture frames and as I was flipping through I found what follows in one of those frames:

We Are A Family

Since before any of us were born, God planned for us to share our lives with each other.
He knew exactly how our strengths and weaknesses would balance one another, and the depth of love, understanding and commitment we would learn to feel.
He knew that the richness of our separate characters would be developed through the hard times, and that mutual trust and respect would be born as a result of overcoming trials together.
He knew that we would laugh together and cry together.
He knew we needed each, to hug, to help, to teach, to share and to love.
Here by design, not by chance. God’s plan, not ours!

Classroom Updates
Toddler’s Morning Out: Wow!  It only feels like yesterday these little faces came in for the first time and brightened our TMO room.  We have had such a pleasure sharing our days with your children.  Watching them grow has been such a joy!  We wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you again in the fall! ...read more.

Mrs. Hudson’s Class: I can not believe I am writing my last newsletter for this school year.  I have so enjoyed your children this year and I would like to thank each one of you for sharing them with me.  I will always treasure the memories of all of the fun times and all of their little smiles.  Each of the boys and girls have grown in so many ways and they are all so smart and ready to embrace the next chapter in their lives. ... read more.

Mrs. Parent’s Class: I want to let you all know what a wonderful year we have had in the Yellow Room. The children have grown and changed in so many ways. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their Preschool year! Pre-K will be another learning journey for them that will help them strive and achieve even more. I am so blessed to have been a part of this year with your children, and I thank you for sharing these precious angels with us at Lakeside. Mrs. Porter’s Class: It is hard to believe that the year is coming to an end.  I have enjoyed my time with your children this year.  Each one was special and a delight to have in my classroom.  I will miss all those cute little smiles and most especially the hugs!  I know they will all have a wonderful year in Kindergarten.  ...read more.

Mrs. Oliver’s Class: We had a wonderful “luau” today celebrating the last day of school.  I still cannot believe the year is over!  It has flown by.  You all should be really proud of your children.  They have grown and learned a lot during our year together.  I will miss having them in my class every day, but I am confident they will have a super Kindergarten year. ... read more.
