School News
It’s almost that time
The teachers and staff are getting the school ready for the children. Our teachers are putting the finishing touches on the classrooms. The new teachers are working hard to set up for the first time, while our veterans are rearranging and straightening up for the start of a new year. We are all excited to have the children back into the school. The start of a new year is always hectic but it is most definitely fun! We cannot wait to meet your children for the first time and see some familiar faces return.

Speaking of teachers and staff
Ann Amrhein and Celeste Lawton will be back in the Preschool offices. Mrs. Spalding will return taking charge again of Extended Hours (AM and PM) and she will be the lead teacher for our new Toddler Morning Out class with Mrs. Skaggs as the classroom assistant. Mrs. Bobbie & Mrs. Andrea will be back with the ‘Playgroupers’ in a new place - the extended hours classroom. Carol Hudson is back in the red classroom teaching one of the Preschool classes and Susan Parent will be joining us to teach the other Preschool class in the yellow classroom. Barbara Porter will teach one of the Pre-K classes in the purple (formerly green) classroom with Sherrie Oliver teaching the other Pre-K class in the blue classroom. Megan Peterman will be the classroom assistant for the Preschool and Playgroup this year, Donna Gill returns to be our Music/God is Good Time teacher on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Ms Mandy will be here for Creative Movement on Thursdays and Fridays. Christina Dunkelberger is going to continue to keep us spit and polished and last but by no means least Meredith Hertzler will be our “webmaster - how cool is that?!

3rd Annual Fall Festival & Bazaar
Our Fall Festival & Bazaar is Saturday, October 4th with a Bazaar “sneak preview” for adults only Friday, October 3rd. You will be hearing a lot about this during those first few weeks at school.
During their class meeting with you at Parent Orientation the teachers will be giving out information about their class gift basket for the Silent Auction. If you know of a company or organization that would be willing to make a donation of product or otherwise, please let us know and we will give you a donation letter to give them.

Lots of volunteers are needed especially festival day to help with games, food, drinks, and the bazaar. Please consider donating your time to this event when the volunteer sign up comes home with your child. Even just one hour of your time makes a huge difference! Every little bit helps and the proceeds benefit “wish list” projects and the God is Good Scholarship Fund. Thank you to everyone who has already attended planning meetings during the summer. We look forward to others joining us as school gets started; September 9, 23, 29 and October 2 at 7pm in the Preschool work office!

Reminders
Information Forms and Tuition
All Child Information forms and initial tuition payments were due on September 1st. If you have not already mailed your child’s information form & payment in, please plan to drop them off no later than Friday, September 5. Preschool office hours are 7:30am -5:30pm. It is important that the teacher have your child’s Information Form before the Orientation meeting.

Parent Orientation
Sunday, September 7, from 2 - 4pm. We ask that at least one parent from each family please make it a priority to be here. At this meeting, you will receive your child’s class assignment, Parent Handbook and other important information. Attending Orientation helps you prepare your child for taking that all important first step into this new adventure feeling secure and confident. Please make arrangements not to bring your child to this meeting. You will also get a chance to meet your child’s teacher and see the classrooms. Please do not bring your child’s supplies to this meeting. We will be ready to receive them on Visiting Day Monday, September 8th or the first day of school. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please call the Preschool office (261-7942).

Parent and Child Visiting Day
Monday, September 8 is Visiting Day. This is a very important day where parents share with their child what they learned at Orientation: where their classroom is, who their teacher is, where to hang their things when they arrive and how arrival works - maybe even going through a practice run before leaving! This is a great way to ease your child into the school environment - prepared! For all programs please come any time between 9 - 11am. Supplies may be brought in at this time.

School Starts Wednesday, September 10th!
Are you getting excited? On Wednesday, September 10, all programs begin regular schedules. Please prepare to follow arrival and dismissal procedures outlined in the Parent Handbook.

From the Director’s Desk
There are so many things that get done before a new year begins that get done only because people have shared their time, talent and/ or resources. This year is no different and so I give thanks and praise to an awesome God for . . .
*Ed Jacobson (LPC family) who put up new shelves over our hooks; Ed Jacobson and Billy Shepherd (LPC family) who replaced the tire fence with an extended picket fence that defines our new Toddler & Playgroup play space.
*Ruby & Roy Conner and Roy Shore (LPC family) who cleaned out the weeds and put in new mulch in the flower bed outside our arrival and dismissal doors.
*Andrew Peaden (an LPCWP former student, now a high school senior and Boy Scout) who chose to do his Eagle Project on our playground by giving the sandbox “porch” a new roof, putting a roof on and new fence around the area where we keep plastic riding toys and building a new picnic table to add to our collection.
*Rick Holtz (LPCWP parent) who donated the supplies and labor to paint the hallway including all the walls (working around the hand prints and art work!) trim, shelves and classroom door frames.
*Meredith Hertzler (LPCWP parent) for her “web” work.

God is good! All the Time!!!

We would love to hear your comments and suggestions!
