Extended Hours

Extended Hours for Playgroup, Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten:

The Extended Hours Program is provided as a service for those parents who need childcare before and/or after regular program hours in order to enroll their child in the Playgroup, Preschool, Pre-K or Kindergarten program. It is strictly a childcare program and not an extension of any regular weekday preschool program.

The specific days and hours each day that the program is available will vary year to year, but once set for the current year will not be subject to change. To be offered on any given day enrollment must be sufficient to meet the financial obligation necessary to hire and maintain the staff required to supervise the program.

The specific days and hours each day for the upcoming year are determined once pre-registration for the upcoming year is completed in May of the prior year. Once determined all currently enrolled parents will receive the information in their mid summer Parent Information Packet and the information will be posted on the web site.

First preference is given to those parents who need the program on a regular and consistent basis September through May. The program is not a drop in service. Spaces for occasional use will not be guaranteed and must be arranged for 24hrs in advance.

Parents must have alternative childcare in place for days when the Weekday Programs are scheduled to be closed or when programs are closed due to inclement weather or an unexpected emergency.

Enrollment
Enrollment is open only to children who are enrolled in the Playgroup, Preschool, Pre-K and/or Kindergarten programs. Children enrolled in the Toddlers Morning Out program may not be enrolled under any circumstances.

Pre-registration is required of all children using the Extended Hours program-AM and/or PM. Children who are not pre-registered may not be dropped off early or left past their dismissal time unless prior arrangements have been made with the Director or Assistant Director except in cases of an emergency.

A child may be enrolled in the:
*Am Extended Hours program only on the days that they attend as long as the program is currently available on that day.
*PM Extended Hours program on any day the program is available.

Children using the PM program on a day they do not normally attend can be dropped of no earlier than 12noon.

Drop Off and Pick Up
AM - the person dropping off will park on the playground side, bring the child to the Extended Hours classroom, sign the child in and physically hand the child to supervising staff before leaving.

PM - the person picking up will park on the playground side, come to the playground or the Extended Hours classroom, sign the child out and go to the supervising staff who will get the child.
