Reminders
Pictures
Picture packets are due back by December 1st. You are under no obligation to buy, but we must account for all photos and are charged for those not returned. The preschool receives 20% of the total sales.
Folders
PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD’S FOLDER BEFORE THEY RETURN ON THEIR NEXT DAY REMOVING PAPERS, READING NOTICES AND CHECKING FOR PERMISSION SLIPS.
Clothing Labels
As strange as it may seem, a lot of children cannot identify their own jackets, coats and accessories. Please remember to label these items so that the proper things go home with the correct child. Thanks!
Payments
Tuition: December’s tuition payment is due on or before Tuesday, December 1
January’s tuition payment is due on or before Friday, January 1 - it is fine to post date this payment and send it in before we close for Christmas on Friday, Dec.18. If you plan to drop it off, please call before coming. It can also be mailed.
Extended Hours: your next bill will be sent home in your child’s folder on December 14 & 15 - payment is due on your child’s next day.
As a nonprofit we do not maintain a reserve fund to cover payments when they are not paid on time. Meeting our financial obligations, particularly payroll, is compromised when payments are received after the specified due dates so we appreciate your making your payments on time!
Outside Play
The temperature will be getting cooler, then cold. Even so we will go outside as long as the temperature is 40 degrees or above. Layers work best and please don’t forget the hats and mittens!
Box Tops & Cans
Check the products you buy and clip the “Boxtops for Education” coupon when you find one and send it in to us. We plan to add some scooters to our riding “fleet” with your contributions. Also, don’t toss that can (or any other aluminum)! Bag it and send it in and we will add it to our collection. The money earned goes into the maintenance fund.
Wish List
Spaghetti jars - emptied and washed
From the Director’s Desk:
This is one of my favorite stories. I share it with you because it is my hope that if Christ is not the reason your family celebrates Christmas, maybe a seed will be planted and God will do the rest during the coming year for you and your children.
The Quilt of Holes
As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord along with all the other souls. Before each of us laid our lives like the squares of a quilt in many piles. An angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together in a tapestry that is our life.
But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the pile, I noticed how ragged and empty each of my squares was. They were filled with giant holes. Each square was labeled with a part of my life that had been difficult, the challenges and temptations I was faced with in every day life. I saw hardships that I endured, which were the largest holes of all.
I glanced around me. Nobody else had such squares. Other than a tiny hole here and there, the other tapestries were filled with rich color and the bright hues of worldly fortune. I gazed upon my life and was disheartened.
My angel was sewing the ragged pieces of cloth together, threadbare and empty, like binding air.
Finally the time came when each life was to be displayed, held up to the light, the scrutiny of truth. The others rose; each in turn holding up their tapestries. So filled their lives had been.
My angel looked upon me and nodded for me to rise. My gaze dropped to the ground in shame. I hadn’t had all the earthly fortunes. I had love in my life and laughter, but there had also been trials. I had to start over many times.
I rose and slowly lifted the combined squares of my life to the light. An awe-filled gasp filled the air. I gazed around at the others who stared at me with wide eyes. Then I looked upon the tapestry before me. Light flooded the many holes, creating an image - the face of Christ.
Then the Lord stood before me, with warmth and love in His eyes. He said, “Every time you gave your life over to Me, it became My life, My hardships and My struggles. Each point of light in your life is when you stepped aside and let Me shine through, until there was more of Me than there was of you.” May all our life quilts be threadbare and worn, allowing Christ to shine through.
No one will journey through their life without facing challenges along the way. For some those challenges will be harsher, more tragic than those of others. There is no way to know, but there is a way to prepare for what may come - being in relationship with God. This is the gift Christmas brings. Have you really opened it for yourself and your children? If not, it is my hope that you will open it this Christmas season, finding a Love that knows no bounds, a Joy that knows no end and a Peace that fills your heart forever . . . Merry Christmas!
